Barn Owl Malt produces premium quality malts that express the distinct character of grains grown in Ontario. Produced in small batches using a traditional floor malting technique, our malts are consistent, highly aromatic, and will offer distinct character and flavour to your next brew. These malts perform well in the brewhouse, with exceptional extract potential, yeast nutrition and diastatic power, providing enough flavour and performance to stand alone in a brew made with 100% Ontario craft malts. Currently all our barley malts are made with 2-row varieties grown right here in Ontario. We do not mix our grain streams; each batch is from a single source, ensuring complete traceability to the farm and grain variety. We are proud to showcase the true potential of Ontario craft malts as high quality, world class, specialty malts.

Pale Ale Malt (AC Newdale) - A versatile pale malt that is moderately kilned, providing lightly toasted notes with a mild malty finish. Great for a wide range of North American and British style ales. 2-row AC Newdale barley grown in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
Pale Ale Malt (AC Metcalfe) - A distinctly creamy pale malt offering a smooth mouth feel and exceptional head retention. Particularly well suited to cream ales. 2-row AC Metcalfe barley grown in Bath, Ontario.
